As of now, there’re many colleges in India that run merchant navy courses. Well, almost all colleges are good but everyone wants to get admission in best out of them. I would like to tell you that before taking admission in any college, you’d research about that college. Best way to do that is read testimonials of other students who are currently studying or doing jobs.

Collect necessary information about colleges like their placement records (no college can give you 100 percent placement guarantee because its up to you. I mean to say that a college can give you a chance to get placed in a particular company by calling companies to its college but your placement depends upon your performance and knowledge), and CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate cum Seafarer).

Contact to alumnus and ask them about college (you can find them on social networking sites like Facebook), search on Google to get more information.

It’d be good for you if you’d see fees structure of all colleges because fee varies colleges to colleges (don’t ignore facilities given because some colleges have very low fees structure but they do not provide free accommodation, books, and uniforms).

Once, you select your college then apply online to get admission. As you may already know this profession demands good knowledge and physical strength therefore you’ll have to pass an interview and a physical test to get admission in any college.

Therefore, you’d do some preparation before going for interview. Don’t know what questions interviewer will ask you? Then read this post ‘Questions asked in merchant navy interview for GME, DNS, and GPRating?.’ Next, you’ll read list of top 10 merchant navy institutes in India.
