Nowadays, people are using WhatsApp for official communication and many a time, they wish they could install two WhatsApp on one phone so they can keep one for personal use. There are a number of apps available on Google Play Store to do the job but all of them need to get access to your phone’s personal data such as contact numbers, messages, location, and photos etc. Before installing or using such apps be sure to check their authenticity because some malicious android apps secretly steal your personal data for their own benefit. In this tutorial, I’ll tell you how to install two WhatsApp on one android (Samsung only) phone. If you own a Samsung smartphone then there’s an update for you that Samsung users can install two WhatsApp on their mobile without using any third party app.
You can create a secure and isolated space on your Samsung device using your smart manager settings and then you can use that space to make clones of apps and to do your work. Samsung has launched Samsung My Knox and Secure Folder apps that allow you to create a secure work space on your device and you can also use this space to make clones of apps and these clone apps will work independently. You can use separate settings for your clone apps.
Using Samsung My Knox app or Secure Folder, you can use two WhatsApp accounts on your mobile. All you have to do is just follow the steps given in this tutorial and you’ll be able to use two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously.
Samsung My Knox and Secure Folder apps also help you secure your WhatsApp account by offering you a separate and secure space that other apps cannot access (only selected apps can access that space). I strongly suggest you to use your WhatsApp account through any of these apps; if you share confidential or sensitive information like bank details, through your WhatsApp. Also, enable two step verification onto your Whatsapp to add an extra layer of security.
Important: Depending upon your device’s Andriod version, you can use either My Knox app or Secure Folder app. I’ve explained both ways to install two WhatsApp on Samsung device. Just follow way 1 if your phone’s software version is Android Nougat or more and way 2 if your phone’s software version is Andriod 6.0 Marshmallow or less. Samsung has officially replaced My Knox app with Secure Folder.
If your device’s Android version is Android 6.0 Marshmallow or below then you need to install Samsung My Knox app. There’s a bad news for you that Samsung is going to roll out My Knox service in November 2017 which means you’ll not be able to install My Knox from Google Playstore after that (however, you can get it from your friends if they have installed it). Though existing installs will work normally but they will get any updates.
Way 1: How to Install Two WhatsApp on One Android Device (Smasung Only) Using Secure Folder App –
As mentioned above, Secure Folder is an official replacement of My Knox app that will be available in Android Nougat or above versions. Therefore if your device runs on latest Android version then you can use instructions given below to install two WhatsApp on one Andriod device.
Go to settings and tap on Lock screen and security. Thereafter, tap on Secure Folder. Note: In some phones you may find Secure Folder option somewhere else.
Now swipe to next screen and tap on Start button. Then hit Confirm button.
In the next step, you’ll be asked to choose a lock type. After selecting a lock type, tap on Next button. Subsequently, wait till installation completes.
That’s it. We’ve successfully set up Secure Folder app on our device. Now it’s time to make clone of our WhatsApp.
You can find Secure Folder icon on your mobile home screen or in Samsung apps folder. You need to tap on that icon to open Secure Folder app. Once you open the app, tap on Add apps (see screenshot above).
Next swipe down and select WhatsApp (you can select other apps also) then tap on add. That’s it. You can see WhatsApp on Secure Folder. Now, select a lock type method to lock or unlock your secure Knox space. In this tutorial, I’ve selected password as lock type but you’re free to use any of them.
Note: Upon tapping on Next, you may see an update notification on your mobile screen, I suggest you to update and install the update from Play Store and then go back and set up a password.
Now, tap on Set Up.
That’s it. You’ve successfully installed second WhatsApp on your device. Now, a Samsung My Knox shortcut will be appearing on your mobile home screen, you can tap on that and can find your second WhatsApp there.
Just add a new number to your second WhatsApp account, as usual you do to set up a WhatsApp account.
