How to Resize A Photo And Sign With Microsoft Paint to Fill Out Online Exams Forms


In my last post, I have shown you how to resize a photo with MS Picture Manager. Resizing photo with MS Picture Manager is somewhat tricky, therefore, in this tutorial I will show you a simple way to resize a photo using MS Paint. Usually, to fill out an online examination form, you need scanned copies of your photo and sign. Your photo and sign should be in prescribed dimensions for example; 150px-250px, 20kb-50kb etc. Therefore, before applying online you should have required size of your photo and sign.

If you do not have them then you might not be able to fill online examination forms. It becomes very annoying if you could not get desired size of image by cropping image in Paint or in some other software. Usually, in IBPS, SBI, UPSC, SSC, or some other competitive exams the image size should be more than 20kb and less than 50kb (20kb-50kb) and your sign file should be more than 10kb and less than 20kb (10kb-20kb). In this tutorial, you will be guided to resize a photo so let’s get to the point to resize a photo with MS Paint follow the instructions given below:

Step 1: Open MS Paint and drag a photo in it or directly open a photo in MS Paint.
Step 2: Click on Resize as shown in screenshot.

Step 3: Click on Pixels radio button.
Note: You can also increase/decrease percentage to get required size of photo & sign.
Step 4: Now enter required horizontal and vertical pixels for a photo. Subsequently click on OK your photo will be resized. Un-tick ‘Maintain aspect ratio’ if you’re unable to get desired vertical pixels.

Step 5: To save your photo click on save as and save image as a JPEG file. Now, go to the folder where you have saved your new image and see the size of image. If you do not get required size of the image then go back to step 4 and increase/decrease the pixels of your image .

It is not necessary to create an image within prescribed size and pixels. Therefore, after resizing an image in MS Paint try to upload it in the form.
